Activity: Code It (Probability)

A Canvas activity for this course โ€” the full instructions, reproduced here so you can read them any time.

๐Ÿ“‹ What to do

  1. Complete Learning Check 1 from the textbook chapter Probability Functions.
  2. The question: if you are not certain that an unobserved vector of visits is Poisson-distributed, calculate the probability that customers stop at more than 5 stalls using the appropriate functions for the (1) Normal, (2) Gamma, and (3) Exponential distributions.
  3. Comment your code extensively, line by line, in your own words.
  4. Add 1โ€“2 sentences summarizing your answer, in comments, clearly marked.
  5. Please do not submit AI-generated commenting โ€” that defeats the point of the exercise.
  6. Paste your commented code and your summary into the Canvas text box. Graded on completion, not correctness.

๐Ÿ“ฎ Submit

Submit on Canvas (1 pt) โ€” graded on completion; your deadline is on the Canvas assignment.

Note: the Canvas card is a shortcut to this page — these instructions are the version to follow, and small details may still be refined before class. Submit on Canvas; the due date and your grade live there.
