Group Activity: Explain It! Factorial Experiments

An in-class activity from the course slides — reproduced here so you can find it again after class.

📋 What to do

  1. Your group picks one of the five factorial design datasets used in code/13_examples.R: Plant Growth (2×2), Battery Life (2×3), Website Purchases (2×3), Bikeshare Usage (fractional 2^(3−1)), or Drone Flight Time (3×2).
  2. Using functions/functions_factorial.R (or the .py equivalent), compute the factorial effects, calculate standard errors, test significance, and interpret your results.
  3. Copy the slide matching that dataset, and add it to this slide deck [link].
  4. Fill it in with your group's answers about the factorial experiment.
