Activity: Practice It (Lifespan Under Normal Use)

A short practice set on translating accelerated-life-test results back into lifespan under normal operating conditions.

📋 What to do

  1. Open the practice activity from the Canvas assignment. It launches in its own window — there is nothing to download.
  2. You will be given results from an acceleration model: a fitted relationship between stress level (temperature, voltage, load, or similar) and time to failure.
  3. Use the acceleration factor to convert an accelerated-test lifespan into the expected lifespan under normal use conditions.
  4. Work through each item, showing the quantity you computed and the units it is in. Getting the units wrong is the most common way this calculation goes sideways.
  5. Sanity-check your answer: a normal-use lifespan should be longer than the accelerated-test lifespan, by roughly the acceleration factor.
  6. Credit is for completing the practice, not for getting every item right.
